A 5th grader in my sons’ Cub Scout pack lost his mom when she unexpectedly died from a brain aneurism.  It shocked us all.  It is uncomfortable to think about it, but some kids really do lose their parents.   It is unfair, but it is life.

This 10 year old boy showed unbelievable composure when he spoke at his mom’s funeral and talked about what a great mom she was.  Sadly, his classmates had already been through the death of one of their classmate’s father earlier in the spring.  They knew what to do to support their friend.   Despite how resilient he is, his life is forever changed.   His mother and father were divorced.  His aunt stepped in to help.  The family is sorting it all out.
